Overview
Making sure you have the right email address associated with your account will make sure that you don’t miss out on any Enquiries or emailed notifications.
You can check your email address in Settings - My Profile The email displayed here will match your login details.
Project enquiries
Project enquiries will come to you for one of two reasons:
- A main contractor has manually sent you an enquiry using the contact details in their E1 Address Book
- You have interacted with project documents by viewing, downloading or requesting access, and an automated enquiry is generated as a result
As email addresses are maintained by each main contractor in their E1 address book, each main contractor is responsible for updating their address book with changes to contact information. E1 cannot update this information on their behalf.
You can notify main contractors of your new details from any recent E1 Invitation email.
Scroll to the bottom, and click the ‘request to update your details here’ link. We’ll notify all main contractors that have your original email address in their Address Book about your new details. We can also provide a list of main contractors with your details on request, if you would like to reach out directly.
Unsubscribing from a particular project or a specific builder invitations
You may want to stop receiving updates such as addendums about a particular project, or perhaps stop receiving any future invitations from a particular builder.
You can manage these settings via the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the invitation.
You will now have the option to unsubscribe from that particular project, or from all future invites from the inviting builder.
Once you’ve made your selection, click ‘Save’
Enquiries and Watchlist activity
Changing your email address in Settings will also remove all of your historical Enquiries and Watchlist data. This information is really useful for tracking projects of interest, so it’s important to consider this impact when changing an email address, as neither you, nor your team will have visibility on this historical content.
Recommended Process
If project enquiries from main contactors and Watchlist activity isn’t important for your role, you can go ahead and change the email address by overwriting it and clicking ‘Update Profile’
As this data is important to most users, we suggest:
- Add your new email address as a new user even if it’s for the same person. Once all historical content is no longer relevant, and all main contractors have updated your details, the old email address can be removed from your team.
- On the original email login, head to Settings - My Profile and unsubscribe from email notifications. This step stops automated system-generated emails from being sent to your old email address.
- Find a recent enquiry sent to the original email address, and click ‘request to update your details here’ as shown above.
- E1 will automatically notify all main contractors that have you in their Address Book, prompting them to update your contact details. A reminder that this is managed independently by main contractors once notified.
- If you would like a list of all main contractors with your email details in their Address Book, reach out to support@estimateone.co.uk and we can provide you with this list.
- If you are needing to take over a team member’s login, we recommend following the above process rather than changing the details to a new user.
