How do I submit a quote on E1?

We’ve created a step-by-step guide here.

How do I find projects to submit quotes on EstimateOne?

You can search for projects using the Tender Noticeboard, or you may receive enquiries directly from main contractors on E1. Once you locate a project, click on its name to view project details, you can then submit a quote straight from the project, or from the enquiry.

Can I send a quote to multiple main contractors at once?

Yes, you can send the same quote to all or multiple main contractors mentioned against the project by using the ‘Add Quotes’ button above the line next to Builders and Documents from the project slider.

You can then select the specific main contractors you want to send a quote to. Each main contractor will only see the details sent to them, they won’t have visibility on any other main contractor quote activity.

If you want to send personalised quotes to different main contractors, you will need to complete the quote process one main contractor at a time.

💡
Top Tip - To quote to multiple main contractors at the same time, you need to submit the quote via the project slider. An invitation will only allow you to send a quote to the main contractor generating the enquiry, even if other main contractors are calling for pricing on the same project.

What if I want to send a quote to a specific main contractor only?

If you wish to send a quote to a single main contractor, use the ‘Add Quote’ button next to their name in the project details slider. You can then select which main contractor you want to quote to. Alternatively, if you have received an enquiry and follow the quote button, you will automatically be quoting directly to that specific main contractor.

Do I need to receive an enquiry to submit a quote on E1?

You don’t need to receive an enquiry to be able to quote on any publicly available project on E1, simply follow the ‘Add Quotes’ button on the project slider to start the quote process.

How do I provide details for my quote?

Select the main contractor/s you wish to quote to, choose the appropriate package from the dropdown menu, add the total amount of your quote (excluding VAT), upload any supporting documentation, and optionally add a message with clarifying details if needed.

Can I submit individual quotes with personalised messages?

Yes, if you want to submit individual quotes and personalised messages, select one main contractor at a time from the quote form, and repeat the process for each main contractor.

What is a ‘Fixed Quote’?

The ‘Fixed Quote’ checkbox is only available on privately issued projects.

The contractor has requested confirmation of whether the quote being submitted on E1 is a fixed price. A fixed price quote is an offer to complete a project for a set price, valid for a specified period unless the project scope changes. Confirming that your quote is fixed may improve your chances of winning this job in the future.

It’s essential to note the period that the quote is valid for on your quote documents.

What happens after I submit my quote?

Once you're satisfied with the quote details, click the ‘Submit’ button. E1 will notify the main contractor/s via email with the quote as an attachment and also send it to their E1 portal for access within their project management page.

How can I track the status of my submitted quotes?

You can manage your quotes on the Quotes tab. The ‘Status’ column will show whether any main contractors have viewed your quote yet, as well as a date and time stamp showing who viewed the quote, and when.

What actions can I take regarding my submitted quotes?

You can download, revise, or delete the quote from the Quotes tab. If revisions have been made, ensure clarity for the main contractor between the original and revised quotes.

💡
Top Tip - If a quote is deleted, it will be removed from the quotes tab, but we strongly recommend contacting the main contractor directly to inform them that you are withdrawing your quote, in case they have downloaded it locally.

How can I communicate internally with my team about quotes?

Use the ‘Notes & history’ section on the quote to leave internal notes. These are private to you and your team and won't be visible to the main contractor.

We also recommend maintaining your Watchlist to track project progress by updating the status to ‘Quoted’.

How do I follow up if my quote hasn't been viewed?

If your quote hasn't been viewed, reach out to the estimator noted on the project directly. If it has been viewed and you want to follow up, you'll see the name of the person who engaged with your quote, and you can reach out to them directly.
